Rilasciato pochi mesi dopo Feint, Cry for the Moon è l'ultimo singolo estratto dal debut album dei symphonic gothster Epica, The Phantom Agony. Pubblicato sempre da Transmission ormai un anno dopo l'uscita del full lenght, il singolo contiene ben quattro brani, due dei quali unreleased version: un'edizione synth / space pop di Cry for the Moon (riarrangiata e nettamente più corta dell'originale) e Run for a Fall anch'essa affiancata a pop element.
Singolo che farà storcere il naso non poco ai metaller stretti, data la natura sensibilmente commerciale della release; ma probabilmente non a fans stretti della band, così come non ad amanti della musica dalla mentalità più aperta, potranno apprezzare le single version avvicinandosi a qualcosa di nuovo.
