Hi William and welcome on The Bible of Metal! Just a few week and your brand new debut album The Artifact will be released! How are you living this moment?
A pleasure to meet Alex! Aw the release, it feels almost surreal, since we have had it in our hands for so long, and yet no one has heard more than some tiny snippets from a few songs. We are counting the days sort to speak, so it's going to be wonderful to soon be able to show The Artifact for all of our patient fans! But 29th of August it is, the long wait will definitely be worth it
You've worked pretty harder on it, haven't you?
Of course we have, it's our first album ever. But all of the hard labor does not lie in the songs themselves as you might think. Besides the writing and recording process we have been forced to deal with mebmers leaving more than once, since the ambition and commitment for the band just wasn't there enough for some. It's difficult as it is for bands to make it nowadays, so if you are five guys in a band (as we in Deceptic are) there has to be five hearts burning for the same cause, otherwise it gets really frustrating. And that's why this golden record has taken such a long time to mold into what it has become toady!
What's changed since your 2011 debut EP?
Besides band members you mean? An awful lot actually! First off, we have been gifted with the incredibly talented and sugar sweet Martin Carlenfors (Giuitar) and Otto Halling (Bass), which fits Deceptic perfectly, like a glove if I might say so! And second, the sound overall, we have gained much experience along the way and you will notice it on the record. And third, we Finally got us a nice record label, we are really excited about starting to work with Dead End Exit / Roasting House Records, and we love the fact that they chose us beacuse of the music, and not beacuse of the numbers.
What does Pulling Levers talk about?
I think that answer lies in the eye of the beholder really. But for me, it's about standing still at the crossroads staring at all your options not sure if you have the courage enough to chose your path and make a change in your life. So you ask yourself "Will I ever pull the lever?" so that you could start to at least try to fulfill your dreams, or should you do as every average Joe does? Get a career that you don't want just to blend in with the rest of the society and let your soul whither from the inside?
Can you tell us something about your new upcoming video that will be released with The Artifact?
I can tell you, that it will be AWESOME! It will be realeased a couple of weeks before the album and it has been made possible by the french sorcerer Igor Omodei, famous for playing guitar in the band Uneven Structure. The song is called Ocean, and will blend well together with the artowrk from the album, it has a nice message, which you will find out eventually!
Have you some dates confirmed for your upcoming European tour?
No dates to state official yet, but we have some shows in UK planned already, and if everything goes well, some more in Germany and around that area! So this fall and winter looks promising to us!

We can guarantee that are going to hear something that you never have heard before, and you will find out that variety, groove, goosebumps and larger than life vibes is our key and motto for this album! It is quite hard to describe such epicness, but if you keep an eye on our facebook in the early days of August, you will know exactly what i'm talking about! See you on the road!
