HERO OF TODAY: PAUL THUREAU (GORGON)

THEY JUST RELEASED THEIR NEW GREAT AND POWERFUL SINGLE A LA SEPTICFLESH TITLED ISHASSARA, WHICH IS A REALLY GOOD ANTICIPATION FOR AN UPCOMING HIT ALBUM! SO I ASKED TO PAUL THUREAU SOME QUESTIONS TO KNOWN A BIT MORE ABOUT GORGON!

Hi and welcome on the pages of The Bible of Metal!
How was born your project?
I funded Gorgon around 2013 while working on our debut album Titanomachy: I started working on my own, and took the time to find the right people to work with, and almost everything happened in a very natural way.

From your moniker I suppose you like a lot Greek mythology, don't you? What's your favourite myth?
I do yes. It’s pretty hard to tell which one is my favourite actually, most of them are really interesting and kinda unique. But I have to say that Orpheus and all the myths around him are totally fascinating.

When did you start working on your new single Ishassara? Could you tell us more about the song?
Ishassara is a tragic story I wrote, based on the Minoan Goddess/entity Ishassara.
The story is about a man who lived a life in misery, frustration, pain and delusion.
One day he starts praising this Goddess hoping for the to give him peace of mind.
But the prayers, turn into obsession, and day after day his rituals, become more and more occult - at one point, loosing his mind, he decides to sacrifice his own son on the Goddess altar.
Realizing what he has done, and that the Goddess still ignores him, he sets the Temple and himself on fire.

Will your next album be on the same mood?
Totally, the song represents very well the athmosphere of our new material.

What's the main difference between your previous album Titanomachy?
We kinda abandoned that “power epic metal” feeling we had on Titanomachy, focusing on a darker and heavier sound, and also embracing at 100% the middle-east oriental sound we didn’t dare to push that far on Titanomachy.

Can you tell us some more songs title on your upcoming album?
Unfortunately no, we prefer to keep that secret for now!
