THEIR NEW ALBUM WAS RELEASED JUST LAST FRIDAY ON METALAPOLIS AND IT'S ALREADY GETTING SOME GOOD REVIEWS ON THE NET. TO CELEBRATE THIS GREAT RETURN I HAD A LITTLE TALK WITH CHRIS IRA, GUITARIST OF NIMROD BC, TO KNOW A BIT MORE ABOUT GOD OF WAR AND CHAOS!
Hi guys and welcome on the pages of The Bible of Metal!
Hello and thank you for this chance to talk about our band Nimrod BC.
Almost 10 years have passed since your acclaimed 2nd album Return to Babylon, I guess a lot of things have changed in the meantime..
Yes, we have done a lot of things during this time of course, after we released in 2009 our previous album Return to Babylon, which you're right received great reviews we put together a good live band and started playing live in a lot of Festivals, then we started writing new material for this upcoming album focusing on going back to our classic Thrash metal roots, and needed a guy who can perform this task as a singer, we got really lucky to find throught a mutual friend who introduced us to our awesome singer Gary, and that s where we are now releasing out new album "God of War And Chaos".
This album will features your new vocalist Gary Wayne, isn't it? How helped his joining for the realize of God of War And Chaos?
It helped a lot because Gary is a terrific guy to work with very professional and has the special tone we were looking for as our singer. We have worked this album really fine, I wrote the music and Gary wrote most of the lyrics some of them with me as well very fast, Gary has the same metal background as me so we fit very well, we like all the same bands.
What does your new album talks about?
Our album talks about war battles like in World War 1 and WW2, we like this kind of subjects we grew up watching movies and learning about this also about mind subjects, Metal brotherhood also about old history like in God of War And Chaos which talks about Nimrod BC the mighty hunter the first King in human mankind history also we talk about natural disaster like in Fukushima 666.
When I first looked at your new album tracklist, Fukushima 666 caught my attention for first, behind its pumping and catchy sounds you too passed such terrible moments for an earthquake in Chile on 2010, just a year before this drammatic event in Japan, must have been such a bad deja vu feeling, isn't it?
Yes of course you're right about this, we live this earthquake and was very devastating many people died as you could watch in the news eventhought we re used to feel earthquakes all the time here in Chile but this one was really strong at the time seems like the end of the world. In Japan is the same but this is an island so its harder for them they're expose to tsunamis more and they had this Nuclear Plant which could have been like a new Chernobill but now in Asia so we felt very close and sorry for the people of Japan, so we wanted to talk about this in this song.
On the mastering you worked with a guru like Bill Metoyer who also worked with metal gods such as Slayer and WASP, what a great experience!
Yes Bill is such a down to earth guy despite been a world metal guru, really easy to work with him, his experience is awesome this helped us a lot of course, his job on our album make us sound really great the sound we were looking for, a sound from the glorious thrash days, working with him is great privilege.
Who realized your new album great artwork cover?
Timo in Germany did part of it he works with the label Metalapolis records and part was done by Claudio a Graphic guy here in Chile, good you liked , thank you,
What're your plans for the next future?
Actually we are working on a couple of videos to be release very soon to help promote our album after this our plans are to get together and play to support this new album in Europe, North and South America and maybe Japan where we have a couple of contacts, on the other hand we also want to do another album soon so we're starting to write new songs already.
