(ENG) HERO OF TODAY: JOEL CARLSSON (COVERED CALL)

After listening the brand new upcoming album from Covered Call, here's a little interview with Joel Carlsson from the band to know much more details about the song and the making of steps of Impact.


Hi Joel and thanks for the interview!
What has changed from your last work Money Never Sleeps?
We have done some changes in the lineup. We have a new bass player, Andy Loss (Glory, Lion’s Share) and a new Lead singer Göran Edman (Yngwie Malmsteen, John Norum band). Thomas Vikström who was singing on the first album is a great singer but also a very busy man. He had to spend much time singing with Therion and we are very happy for him. We also wanted to change the songs and touch on the second album. We are very satisfied with Andy and Göran’s effort on this album.


How many hours have you worked on Impact?
We have put many hours and time on this album. On the first album Money Never Sleeps we put less time and we said that this time we would put more time and efforts on to make it as we wanted. Our focus has been hooky melodies and a fat sound to make a solid album.


What does Think About All Times talk about?
The story line is about how fast life can change. Today you can be very rich and successful but tomorrow it can be the other way around. Things can change our life really fast. The guy in this song, think about old times and dream about how it was before it changed.


Could you tell me more about Lorraine?
Well, the song is a classic love lyric. I think we all can relate to that in one way or another. Begging to a girl to take you back. That song is the one on the album that in my point of view is the most AOR like song. I personally like the backbeat and the melodic guitars together with Görans song.


What is your favourite song on Impact?
I really like Look into your mind and Make a wish. Those two feels solid to me and I’m very satisfied with the production. Of cause I do like all the songs but these two are my favorites.
