Hi and welcome on the pages of The Bible of Metal! Three years has passed since your self-titled album but seems heavier than ever!
Thank you! Yes this one turned out heavier and at the same time a bit more mellow at times. A bit more of everything in all.
When have you started writing Nightwalker? Has the joinin' of Matti Norlin helped you out?
Think we started really focusing on the writing when Matti joined. A few of the songs were already written and some riffs has been around since long before the first album was released, but I wasn't until him and Johan Fahlberg(vocals) came into the band as things started to happen.
Matti took upon himself to mix everything and the result was exactly what we wanted. A bit more organic sound than the previous one. He's one of those people that can play pretty much every instrument there is so all the layers and weird sounds and mellotrons and what not is his work.
R. Date: January 25th, 2019 Tracklist 1. Die for you 2. Begging 3. Never again 4. Death laughs 5. Nightwalker 6. Living in a dream 7. Cockroach 8. Kill us all Link Official Website |
More death itself i would say. Our singer Johan who writes all the lyrics works as a mortician so I guess it comes from him having to deal with dead people all day.
The first single you will release from it was Begging, some months ago, can you tell us more about it? What's the story behind it?
That one came about really quick as some songs do. Our bassplayer Z came up with the intro and verse in 30 seconds during a rehearsal. I took it home and wrote the rest of it. Some songs just writes themselfs meanwhile others takes years to finish.
What about the next one, the opener Die for You?
Matti brought that one. Think it was written for an earlier project he had but i didn't fit for some reason. We arranged it a bit and added the cowbell-groove and it turned out great! A perfect opening track if I might say so.
Death Laughs at You is probably the most darkened song on your Nightwalker, perfectly in the mood of the main theme of your album I guess; can you tell us more about it?
That music for that one was finished long before the last album was done but we never got around to use it. I really like the final outcome of this song. Everything apart from the vocals and the guitarsolo is recorded live on the first take. It has a really nice vibe to it.
Have you some live dates coming next?
We are playing in Stockholm on the 7th of february to celebrate the release of the album. Other than that we are in the middle of trying to book as many gigs as possible.
Would you like to leave a message to the readers?
Thank you so much for the interview, buy our album and don't forget to boogie!!!
