BLAST FROM THE DUST: SPECIAL 2012

Eccoci a tirare le somme di questo pazzo 2012, anno caratterizzato da un'offerta del mercato musicale piuttosto copiosa, nonché da una stagnazione di idee. Le novità di questo anno bisestile non son state poi così tante, tuttavia sono usciti album piacevolmente freschi come Flying Colors (Flying Colors) o Il Confine (Folkstone), senza dimenticarci album nettamente più aggressivi come Resolution (Lamb of God) o Kitab Al Awthan (Al Namrood), piacevoli ritorni come The Anomalies of Origin (Abominable Putridity), Global Flatline (Aborted), Rise of the Phoenix (Before the Dawn), Caligvla (Ex Deo) e Blood for the Master (Goatwhore). Impossibile non menzionare anche incredibili debut come The Old Man and the Spirit, dei Beyond the Bridge, band che quest'anno ha sofferto la morte del tastierista Simon e di cui - almeno a mio avviso - sentiremo ancora parlare.
D'altro canto questo 2012 è stato costellato, come dicevo poc'anzi, di album quando abbondantemente inutili, per quanto estremamente orecchiabili, e dei quali resteranno sporadici brani che andranno a mimetizzarsi nella playlist degli apparecchi di ciascuno di noi - vedi l'ultimo Freedom Call, le svariate fotocopie Nightwish (Magica, Dawn of Destiny e tante altre), Stalingrad degli Accept che sembra uscito da quel degli anni 80 -  per non parlare di certi scherzi della natura di cui si farà volentieri a meno, vedi Stone Grow Her Name (Sonata Arctica) e Circus Black (Amberian Dawn).
